Plus he is on a decent wage.
Newton decided very quickly to sign a long extension to his deal when no doubt he could have gone back and played NRL again.
Sometimes things just fit into what players are looking for.

Maybe he does. Don't see why you've brought Newton into it, he had more than proven himself in the NRL. :?
My point was that I think it shows a lack of ambition from Dobson to not want to go and do it at what is an ideal time with the salary cap increasing and the introduction of 2 new teams.
Of course, he could have been touted and just deemed not good enough for NRL.

Rhys was dropped for the Huddersfield game due to his missed tackles the week before. When he asked Justin if his defence was poor when at prop he was told he didn't miss a single tackle but when moved to the back row this is when he missed the tackles and was why he was dropped. So he covered in the wider positions and gets dropped but fans want him moving from the front row?

He is also one of our biggest meter makers and isn't he our only forwards to make 200mtrs in a game in SL??

Props do not mature until their late 20's and IMO Rhys has 4yrs before he hits his best form in the front row, whether at Rovers or somewhere else. I do think he'd be a better player if coached by someone that can actually coach one on one defence.

One thing that will do him no favours is being moved from Centre to Second Row to Prop and maybe a stint at Loose Forward! There is no wonder his season isn't a great one.

We're coming to make some noise!

Interesting, I'm not slagging him off, I like him. I think he sometimes looks a little lazy in defence but that's probably more a lack of foot work than anything else, he seems to really completely on power and doesn't have any guile.

I'm happy for him to stay at prop and defend there, I just feel that going forward it's be nice to see him running wider on occasion, he's got good speed and a good fend.

I agree, for a young player still learning the position he should be left to learn just that one position. We'd better off messing Clinton around then he might actually carry out his threats and bugger off back to Australia.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I don't get this proven himself bit, gets touted around a lot, surely for a player like Seymour to have proven himself he'd have to have worn the green and gold and played regular SOO games. If not he maybe thinks he's not good enough and decided a holiday is in order.

Your logic would therefore deem there are only 4 types of import.
1. Not good enough players who can't get a club
2. Past it has beens who are looking for a retirement fund cos no ozzie team will pay that kind of money.
3. Banned players looking for a stop gap.
4. Players who fancy going on a national lampoons style holiday to Europe.

So of the three you've so far signed which brackets do they fit into?

You've forgotten the "Caught Edit R.B.A a dog" category.

That was in the '3' catagory, along with 'caught smashing a bottle on you're wifes head' and 'peeing off a nightclub balcony whilst awaiting a hearing, but the border agency wont let me in'

Although this is all very nice and clearly some of you enjoy throwing buns shall we get back onto Dobson and Green re-signing?

maybe he has ambitions to win something over here, hence him staying longer.
