Hull FC 22 - 18 Rovers

Last game of 7 on the same pitch in the middle of February will probably result in a forward battle, and in my mind Hull have the best pack (better at doing the tough stuff anyway).

Loving the overconfidence by some of you guys though, Rovers could quite easily win but I'd be very suprised to see a 20 point drubbing.

Both boards have got their over-optimists. There was a 'How many of the first 8 does Agar have to win?' thread where some Hull fans were saying 'we should (emphasis added) be winning 6 of those'.

You shall be nominated for an award at this rate at our end of season board awards...we will have to figure out a name for the award..

I am thinking of one of those overbearing defensive hyper Mums in the playground in one of those debates.."Well your little Johnny said it as well etc"

Catchy.

Defensive? Seriously - anything provocative from us and the B&W wagons are circled quicker than you can say 'skint', 'six-fingered', 'Where's Willie?' or 'jog on'.

You may have the last say if you wish (chivalrous, me), as it was I who snitched on Jonny first. Then back to the expert analysis...

Head on now I see a good victory for Rovers based on 5 things

1. Fitness, speed and depth of the squad.
2. Settled team and a massive incentive to win from within the club
3. 2 fantastic half backs
4. One of the best packs in SL
5. WILLIE MASON

Score still 32-12

1. How do you know which team is fitter? Depth of squad is irrelevant in first game. Speed is questionable, I don't think there is much in our back and your backs. Definitly not enough to win a game on its own.

2. Settled team? Hull made two signings this season and only lost Berrigan who was a regular starter.

3. Dobson granted, Blake unproven and hardly smashed NRL.

4. Hulls pack is better then Rovers even with Willie Mason.

5. Mason doubtful to play.

This has to be joke post of the year.

You are skint, God knows where Willie is, and have you read the Pugs post on our board, jog on is being polite I think

I'd suggest Webster is better than Yeaman and Welham is better than any make shift one you put there. Briscoe is better than Tansey or whoever else you put there. Wingers I'd say Fox and Briscoe are equals, Colbon has more experience than Sharp but Sharp has more elusive speed.

2. Settled team? Hull made two signings this season and only lost Berrigan who was a regular starter.

Not just about the signings but where players play and how they train are different, your squad is being shuffled around all over the place and Long hasn't got a regular partner yet and when Horne returns all he's heard over the closed season is how the club are trying to replace him! A real boost to his confidence aye!
3. Dobson granted, Blake unproven and hardly smashed NRL.

Dobson hardly smashed the NRL either, Blake actually played more NRL than Dobbo.

4. Hulls pack is better then Rovers even with Willie Mason.

Considering none of your back row would get in ahead of Newton, Galea and Mason (and I include the ageing Fitzgibbon although I highly rate him still) your strongest area over us would be hooker. Your props are possibly equal to ours but even then I'd take all our front rowers over Radford, Lauaki and Moa, maybe me being biased but also an educated guess that none of them would suit Rovers playing styles.

5. Mason doubtful to play.

Mason won't play, going by the press report he is waiting for the Visa to be stamped before he can get here. Looks like Crusaders are having similar problems

We're coming to make some noise!

O'Mely is better then Lovegrove
Houghton better then Fisher
Clinton better then Radford
Newton better then Westerman
Tickle better then Galea
Fitzgibbon better then Murrel.

I prefer our impact players too.
