The result at Wakefield hurt so much because of the mauling we gave them the week earlier. The plain truth is, that many Hull fans look at the relative fan bases of the 2 clubs in this city, and translate this into on-field performance expectations (anything Rovers can do, we can do better). In the modern era of the salary cap, this will never happen. Wigan have consistently had significantly larger crowds than Saints, but the trophy cabinets would suggest this bears no resemblance to where it really matters, i.e. on the pitch.

Now, I'm sure Kingmakers post was directed at the self importance (as he perceives it) of Hull fans, but to me it sums up the underlined section of the 1st post perfectly.
The reason (for me, and I'd suggest the vast majority) the result at wakefield hurt had knackall to do with what you did the week before and more to do with a dire, uninterested, lacklusture spineless performance from hull.

I bet the hull fans didn't question this once before, during or after the game.
