Thats a big point. I dont live in Hull and therefore dont subscribe to the hate fc above all mentallity. If (big if) one team emerged and was going well it could well attract more fans from outside the city limits. Someone mentioned salary cap, but if you have a team to compete and attract 15-20,000 a week then you attract the Haslers and the Kearneys and Bellamys of this world, who would work the miracles within. Nice dream but will never happen.

No a definite nightmare
I would genuinely just stick to amateur if that nightmare ever happened.

The passion would go, it would become a franchised, manufactured and souless club in my opinion. I for one could not feel anything for such a creation. I have friends who are FC fans and we have great rivalry with the rugby, this would be lost if we all started supporting Hull United or whatever the name might be, probably playing in black and red and more than likely at the KC.
Hull KR and Hull FC are what makes this city unique in RL in this country, I don't like FC, but I sure as hell want them to continue for as long as I am alive, the same as I do my club, the rivalry is REAL, forget any other so called derby, this city has the ONLY one and long may it continue.

Don't get me wrong I have a lot of friends who are rovers fans, but is a big no no for me.
You mean by grabbing the club by the balls, getting it into SL and bringing in a coach, players to beat you regularly (when we all knew it was 8 easy points for you). Give me a bitter chairman anyday if thats the result.
