When Ratu pulled out leaving Jake at right centre would have been the obvious solution, especially as Justin had clearly targeted Salfords left side defence, but the fact he played Cockayne there in order to keep Jake in the middle suggests a longer term plan IMO.
Also liked the way he still had him defending in that centre.
