Still if it keeps them off the streets what harm can it do
I'm gonna spit all over you, by accident of course.

If Smith plays at fullback then he has a choice of Hodgson, Hall, Fox, Ainscough, Gardner, Calderwood and Raynor (if fit). If he chooses a different fullback then Smith is also another winger to add to the list.
As for Welham, I don't think he is international class.
Cough, cough
I still think Fox could end up playing against France but it will be interesting to see who has got in ahead of him.

Nice to see even Hull FC fans think it is a laughable decision.
If it is just to grab headlines, I hope that those that have missed out have been forewarned. T. Briscoe's inclusion is so left-field, that I've no idea whether he'll be in place of a wing or a centre. Not that it matters in the short-term, as he'll still be injured for the France game, won't he?
Hope the lad does well though and makes the most of this unexpected opportunity, when he does get fit.

And no offence to Tom Briscoe, he's an ok player with potential, but he's injured for gods sake. If theres gonna be another 13 names gonna be add to this initial 17, why couldn't he be one of them
"They'd butt each other like a pair of billy goats and would both look like a mess at the end of the game. I'd often see Billy an hour later sharing a beer with his rival, with both blokes sporting half a dozen stitches in their scones. They were a breed apart, fornt-rowers - blokes like Bluey were proof of that." Johnny Raper on Billy Wilson and other front rowers of the time

TBF Tom is one of the best prospect in the UK at the moment, though his inclusion at this stage is baffling due to his injury. Yet another strange decision by the equaly strange Tony Smith.
Motto of the week -
It is the way of the weak to secretly bleat to those in authority rather than fight their own battles.
Why that so funny then, yeh he is an ok player (solid imo) but he doesn't look like the type of player that can side step his way through the line beating 2 men in the process and then go around the FB.
