Think we had to offer the longer deal to give us the advantage over other teams. If he keeps us up it pays for itself immediately though!

Injuries affected his England career, not us. Hardly been ruined either has it?
He's been in the last few squads both for friendlys and the actual qualifiers so it goes to show he is seen as one of the elite midfielders in the country unless Mr Capello is mistaken of course?
Owens international career will take off again next season when he moves on

Michael Mancienne was in the Germany squad, does that mean he's one of the elite defenders in the country? On the topic of the Germany game, Bullard couldn't even get a game, despite having numerous midfielders missing.

Not getting any younger is he? Missing too many chances at the moment and that's his own fault.

Play 442 with midefield of: Geovanni LM Bullard CM Cameroon player linked with CM Mendy RM
with a pairing up front of Manucho and Cousin looks decent.
Maybe so, but he needs the quality around him. Will Brown play Mendy on the right? Can Geovanni play on the left wing? For Bullard to pay off, he needs a good partner in the middle of the park.

Bullard had been demanding higher wages at Fulham, with some reports today suggesting he may be looking for as much as £50,000 a week from the Tigers
