First of all well done. This SL is the tightest ever so I've felt for HKR from day one, you're not that bad a team.

That said there simply arn't enough wins out there for you to make top 8 let alone six!

However if you win the games you're meant to and pinch the odd one like last night that perhaps you wern't expecting the 10th or even 9th is possible and from there you could easily stop up and build for next year.

Finally I'm not being condecending, my own team has got off to a ripper start but top 8 is far from guaranteed.

Zook, one game at a time!!!!!

You'll comfortably make top 8 whereas I'm hoping we can scrape in top 8 our next 3 games are saints Hull and Wigan so I'd settle for one win to be honest

It's possible but would require one team to really fall off the gas. Ninth would be brilliant first season back, would put your destiny in your own hands though I get why after 2016 you're not keen on that 8)

After last night it is a realistic goal to finish above Catalans, Widnes, Salford & Huddersfield which would put us in the top 8.

A tough task and we need to find consistency that is the hardest bit. In 2016 when we won easily at Leeds I thought we had turned the corner but we didn't win again for weeks and never once won back to back.

Still, things look a lot rosier than they did a day ago.

Not sure thats a realistic goal but it's certainly an aim.

From what I've seen youre not as good as Salford, Widnes I'll tell you on sunday. Under new management Catalan and Hudds should be way better than you at least on paper.

Last year you needed 10 wins and a draw to get 8th spot - this year it's tighter and I reckon you will need 12 wins to be certain -I can't see where they will come from.

We shouldn’t get too carried away, beyond enjoying it for what it was. We put 50+ past Cas and Wakefield in 2016, after all. And last night, while our goal line defence was really impressive and we scored some lovely tries, there were spells when Hudds were making lots of easy metres and we struggled with our exit sets. 4 of our first 6 games have come against the current bottom 3, so there are certainly tougher challenges ahead.

However, while I’d say we looked like a SL team vs Leeds and won at home vs Catalans, last night we did both together for the first time since promotion. I was pretty despondent last week and revised my personal forecast down. Now, again, I think that top 8 is possible (if still a very big ask), and 9th/10th look gettable.

You’d likely need two or three teams to come adrift at the bottom, with most of the rest beating them home and away to push it up to 12, so in one way a less tight league. It’s only a 23 game initial season, after all. 8th has been 20 or 21 points the last three years, so it’s a fairly consistent target.

Not yet, no. Still been in a good mood today though!

As an aside, I think last night’s score was a reverse of that from our last visit to Huddersfield.
