The whole thing was a years build. Not sure on the stand as that's only a small part of the build.

A year.
On the story, the possibilities are -
1. It is rubbish.
2. It is about switching the home derby and Parker has got the wrong end of the stick - the quote, albeit from an unnamed source, suggests not in fairness.
3a. The North stand really may be under threat and this is political positioning to save or secure it.
3b. The North stand really may be under threat and this is the club adopting a new policy to survive. Unpalatable as it may, it does solve the issue in one swift cut. Radical surgery to save the patient, kinda thing. With Pearson looking to re-negotiate, now is a good time to try to cut a deal if plan A is wobbling.

This seems the more likely.

Then 'we' probably just drink it down. Assuming it's merely a delay.
With the Allam-Council 'impasse', Allam's loan to us and the close professional relationship he has with Pearson, it is quite a web of intrigue. The stuff of (a rather slow-moving) political thriller, in fact.

also you'd have been better getting an upto date picture with the current east stand sponsors
The photoshop police are out ... Must admit I over looked the Hudgell factor tho' - however a little more time, has still yielded no picture of the new sponsor. Darn

A cynic would argue this has been on the cards for a while - since the Allam gift.

If Allam wasn't involved - you'd instantly say no chance. The first steps towards a possible merger would be (IMO) if this 'All Hull' vs ... ever materialises (and was a success)

Tbf, I've assumed it lay somewhere between a useful threat and a plan B since franchising came in.
I can't see a straight-forward merger, but it could split Rovers support if it was handled poorly. I'd start a poll if it weren't guaranteed to be hijacked by Hull fans.
At least it is only in The Sun, which barely counts as a news-source.
