Well in relation to the topic of the thread I have already said Rovers fans should support Yeaman in an England shirt.
My view of the England coach's selection is by the by.

If that were true, McGuire or Burrow would be in there to link up with Sinfield and neither Reed nor Heighington nor Widdop would be anywhere near.

Yeaman is a proper bellend when he plays for Hull, but that's irrelevant as far as I'm concerned when he pulls on the national shirt. I have cheered many players at internationals, both RL and football, who I have abused from the terraces at a club game. Perhaps its a tad hypocritical but that's the way it is.

He got the gig primarily due to his combination with Tom Briscoe, but I can't ever make a case for Welham in an England shirt until he learns a few basic defensive techniques on a consistent basis. Maybe a new coaching set up will sort this, maybe it won't.

After watching the national games so far Yeamans defence aint that much better. Been caught coming out the line on numerous occasions and failing to make a tackle, The young French hooker made him look silly!

But you brought it up, by saying Rovers could provide at least one better alternative. So why is Yeaman preferred? I'm not saying I disagree, just interested in why Yeaman is continually selected at the expense of the better Rovers player(s). Can't be to do with league position, clearly.

And one of them should be. The "Chase experiment" is clearly a failure, on both a playing and a popularity level. If Burrow hadn't been in for an op after the Grand Final, he should have been a shoe-in for a call up, such was his form.

The fact that Briscoe/Yeaman are wing/centre partners at club level is a big reason for Yeaman getting picked over other fit centres.
If it wasn't for injuries to Atkins/Shenton and Bridge then Yeaman wouldn't be anywhere near tbh.
