Agree 100% mate. A merger as far as I can see would be out,can`t see either set of fans accepting it,can you?

I think if it was resisted when Rovers were on the brink of extinction, it would easily be fought off now both clubs (in the grand scheme of things) are doing pretty well with strong respective fan bases.

It's a bit of a tangled web regarding Pearson, Allam and the stadium, so I guess it's a case of we'll see what happens - but this is more Hull FC's concern at the moment. I'm pretty confident that the people involved in running Hull KR will always act in the club's best interest rather than for their own financial gain.

As for the initial point about the relationship between the two clubs; I wholeheartedly agree that it needs to be better. I'm certain this can be done at boardroom level and a little more mutual respect and joint effort could actually see both club's fan bases increase as long as the rivalry is not diluted, but shown to be more than just the odd fisticuffs between fans, cheap point scoring and squabbles over player contracts.

I will always support Rovers and Hate FC. But as i've said before If the merger thing raised its ugly head I wouldnt poo-poo it out of hand. I and many of us dont live in the B/W R/W bubbles of Hull.
Cas are closer for me but rovers are my team, always will be but if a hybrid team were forced upon us I would watch them as I love my rugby too much to say sod it im off to watch skirlaugh.

If the situation ever did arrise which i very much doubt it ever will, you probably would still see a number of people go and watch a merged team but not enough in the short term for it to be financialy viable and survive, it could prove to be a pretty lonely place in such an event.

Just heard pearson say on the radio that all three clubs in the city will be completely seperate entities for evermore, never had any doubts myself.

Allam is a creditor to Hull KR to the tune of £1M (plus a lot more - if many of the earlier reports were to be believed). If he recalled that debt tomorrow (or next week, when the franchise announcements are made ) then you would have little choice but to

a) find the money PDQ from elsewhere

b) go bust or

c) dance to whatever tune he decides to sing.

For the first time - I'm with Roverswall. He's the only one showing a bit of common sense and insight with this - more people would do well to listen to him.

If for instance rovers sold out to someone affilliated to AA my obvious guess would be one rugby club in the city Mr hudgell alresdy has his name on one stand of the KC Adam pearson on another?

My guess is - as we've had repeated assurances of "no merger" - is Rovers're moving to the KC.

Anyone know if the North Stand works are still pending?
