As nice as Briscoe is as a person he is not the player we need there.
How much effort would we get from Eastmond? Well considering he has just got back from injury, has come in to a side playing under new game plans from a new coach and gets boo'd everytime he gets the ball at Saints I think he'd put in plenty for a club where he'd have the support of fans, coach and team mates alike. Why is it fantasy land? Surely Saints would be fine with it not like we are any danger to their place in the league are we!! And after a month of getting his confidence back maybe they'll be in a position where they need him back to cover injuries in their squad.
I disagree and in any case, this is still more than the 'handful of games' that pugwash had suggested, I didn't question him losing his attacking flair so get off your high horse on that one.
My main point was that Briscoe has not missed more one on one tackles than anyone else in the team, infact he's made a few great tackle's this season with 2 attackers running at him which has then been wasted when the ball gets played and goes out wide. What's Eastmond got to do with anything?

Read the thread with reguards the Eastmond part of my post.
He has made more one on one misses than great tackles this season. He is at this moment in time the worst FB in the league for both attack and defence. I bet we will play better without him.

He doesn't really know and he wasn't saying he did.
We'll have a better idea when the medical people have had chance to do an assessment.
But we have a good replacement in Ben Cockayne. Cockayne is not everyone's cup of tea but full back is actually his best position, the position we signed him for.
I don't think Briscoe will be with us next season anyway. THat'll free up a chunk of salary cap

is this the same Cockayne whose been playing in the forwards this season? id sooner see Hall at F/B.
When Briscoe was out injured for a few weeks last season Cockayne reverted to full back and did well, probably better than Briscoe did actually. I think the problem is Cockaynes versatility and Briscoes lack of it means if Briscoe is fit he plays fullback.
It may take Cockayne a game or two to get the positional play back but it immediately improves our attacking threat.

Wasn't he named MOTM a couple of games back ?

Briscoe? He never wanted to leave Hull. Pesky agents.
Is Hall's confidence like an illness and contagious? Because I feel Fox has got it bad right now.
Brisc - for me ever since he hurt his groan/thigh a while back he just hasn't been the same. Real shame - but Cockayne will get his chance now and we'll see if he's a better option after all.

Normally I'd say that we'll ship more tries with Charlie as the last line of defence as Brisc's reading of the game and positional sense is better. However over the last season I don't think Brisc has been his usual reliable self so those arguments no longer apply and he gives us nothing in attack.

Not the answer, Ben is not a good fullback IMO, he is perfect for a utility player.
Give Sheriff a go, we MUST start to blood the youngsters soon. If the rumours are true about Briscoe going to Widnes, Galea and Vella leaving then it time we got the likes of Sheriff, Taylor, Cox etc in the 17 to get them ready for 2012 as bringing in replavcement overseas players is not the answer.
