We dont normally announce until they have all the paperwork cleared. Willie Mason was a tricky one as the news was broken by mistake (I belive) and the club had little choice but to announce it the fact the club said they announced it for other reasons was probably a smokescreen to what really happened.

The Blake Green signing has been 'broken' for months.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

They are using exactly the same method they used with Clinton for Green e.g 'Nothing is sorted yet' The Mason situation was more complex then that. Or at least that is how I understand it.

The Aussie media got hold of some pictures of Mike Smith shaking hands with Willies manager and stuck them in their paper. A great scoop I agree but it left Rovers with no alternative but to confirm the deal was done 'subject to Visa'. Rovers don't like to confirm anything until all the paperwork is sorted it is how they have generally done it previously.
And how is that a bigger scoop then Blake Green actually saying he's signed for hkr and is awaiting his visa and he's got his visa approved and is just waiting for the paperwork?

Its pretty hard to deny photographic evidence. Anything else can be palmed off as paper talk IMHO.

A photo of two people shaking hands, a photo your yet to give me a link to , is better evidence than a coach saying he's interested in signing a player then said player saying he's signed and the visa has been approved?
You sure?

1, Him being such a high prfoile player it was going to make big news, might as well break it yourself as let the international rugby press talk.
2, Our passes were on sale and Mason will sell passes. Anyone denying thats a factor is deluding themselves. It would have been silly of the club not too.
Blake Green's signature isn't really big pass selling news as even followers of oz rugby no very little about him.
