The only exception i suppose was when Dougie raided the city for a couple of years in the 90s.
He has therefore not had that hard of a job.

The link ups, partnerships and initiatives that Martin Dunn is rolling out at Rovers at the minute will bear fruit at Rovers for years to come in a much more competitive environment in my opinion.

Still doing a great job at Hull, that why we still sign the majority better players at all levels out of Hull and Rovers, even at under 18's level. See the England under 18's squad for details.

As you have said it will be seen in the next few years if Dunn and others have done a good job. Lets wait until Dunn's players make an impact on SL.

Rovers and FC seem to have differing philosophies when it comes to assembling their youth squads.

FC take the approach of signing 4/5 'elite' prospects and build the team around them to help their development, while Rovers seem to be going for a really strong squad at each age group and place more emphasis on winning than FC do.

So is that reflected in the league positions of the U20's this season then ?
Rovers are not naive enough to think that each age group will produce 6-7 players for SL.
1-2 will be enough as long as its repeated every year or two.

Bullsh1t.

Of course Rovers are trying to help certain individuals make it and aid their development. Hence why the likes of Jordan Cox (under 18s) have been training full time and playing under 20s.

Our under 18's have been quality this season, several 'elite' prospects in there as you say, most of them still eligible to play under 18's next time out too.

Could everybody go a bit easy on the intemperate language and swear filter dodging? Especially if it is directed at other users. I'm not a big one for bowdlerizing, but calling someone a cOck or a d!ck is promoting mudslinging rather than discussion. Ta.

Not a problem old c0ck, i'll take that on board.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Read it correctly Numpty , the target signings were due to them both being head and assistant coaches FACT! the target players all havin played amatuer for the above 2 at Ideal or Skirlaugh and prised away from FC ( were contracts were offered ) to play for there former coaches
