I think you're missing the point, cockle. I can understand why you'd be keen to big up Wheeldon but tbf he's done well. We're discussing O'Meley and his transfer to Rovers. Just saying he'd be better value than Clinton probably, who, in case you missed it, was the highest paid forward at Brisbane. I'll miss him at FC for sure.

Dowes is 5th choice so didn't get a game. I know you're obsessed with running Dowes down on a daily basis, but sadly for you his tackle bust per game ratio wasn't too shabby in relative terms last year so you look daft for citing it as a specific weakness. I don't rate him particularly either, so there's no mileage in that one. But I'm glad he's not on Clinton's wage when he's broken the same number of tackles this season as Clinton in half the games.

Now its a bicker thread so going off on a tangent is acceptable.
Not bothered how O Meley does to be honest as he is carrying Hull's pack alone and that will catch up with him at some point in the season.
You overlook the development Clinton has brought to Lovegrove, Watts and Wheeldon's game since his arrival at Craven Park, they will all tell you he improved their games, and his perfomances last season were very good.

It was more a dig at Hull's recruitment in the off season were they thought LMS was coming rather then him personally although he is just a plodder.

You mention it more than once a week. Look, you could have said Dowes was just a bit poor and no one would have disagreed. You chose to pick on his tackle-busting which in hindsight was a mistake on your part in the context of last season's stats. If the performance of Rovers props is due entirely to the tutelage of Moobs, I'd suggest he walks the walk a bit more (should get "ample" chance today, mind). I say he'll break 4 tackles today, and Dowes 0.
