Still don't buy that stuff about image rights, mind and there are only 2 clubs apart from Rovers that haven't filed their 2008 accounts, being Wakefield and Celtic. Still, we do know that Rovers accounts that did show debt of £2.4m in 2007 will be signficantly worse after two further losses of £900k in total are posted.

Thought he did well to be fair. Good news about Chev - recovering well and hopefully back for Easter (the derby?). :D

Wetther you buy the stuff about image rights is of no concern to the vast majority on here. :D

Well, considering 3 seasons ago we were in NL1 a period of stabilising in SL isn't the end of the world.

Indeed. Think this season as well as maybe next could see Rovers not strengthen on the field in order to invest in the bigger ground developments. The RFL should view the investment favourably at the next round of licenses and then Rovers will hope that their income streams will self-sustain the business going forwards. Needs to take action sharpish though otherwise the debt may be 3-4 million by the time the club sustains itself which could take a fair few seasons to pay off if you run at a decent profit.
Big question is, if Hudge does decide to stay way under the cap to invest the cash at making the club more sustainable will the fans stay loyal to watch a team lacking on the pitch? (not a dig just a serious observation)

Very true, but if it keeps the cabbages and window lickers happy to post on another clubs forum i suppose its Rovers support for care in the community.

No i fully agree, i certainly wasn't trolling. Although i do think with hindsight he may have put his priorities in the wrong order 2 years ago. But the guy puts his money where his mouth is so fair play.

I agree but as i said it does not need to be quickly the debts will be i think mostly directors loans as hulls is (i think may be wrong) so as they do need to be payed back they will not incur penalty's or strict repayment plans which is a lot more stable . They do need to take some tough decisions leave the ground as is with no crowd improvements and possible loss of franchise or improve ground increase crowds increase revenue start to make big inroads into debt. 1500 on the east stand would bring in over £250k per season

If rovers are looking down the barrel of nearly £4m debt by next year then surely they are not a viable proposition? must have a bloody good bank manager to sustain that type of debt. As Hudgell says, the main problem they have is the stadia and its lack of facilities. This seems to be a noose round their neck. In hindsight maybe a move to KC wouldnt've been a bad move afterall?

Banks wouldn't lend to Rovers to that extent as there's no prospect of getting paid back - it'll nearly all be directors loans (Crossland and Hudgell, I'd think).
