Rovers like everyone else would love a production line of local talent but personally I have no problem with overseas players plying their trade here.

I would allow clubs to sign as many overseas players as they want. But I would then add a rule allowing only 5 to play in any one game.

That way, red tape and self imposed quotas will never stop you bringing over a star name like Mason if you want to, but still there will always be plenty of opportunity for local players. And the RFL stay within the law because there are no quotas, nothing.

Main thing is you need to be in Super League or you get the worst of both worlds. If you are not, star overseas players won't look at you and the best local talent will go elsewhere. Why wouldn't they?

Hull KR lived in that world for well over a decade and people don't realise how tough it is. Never mind debates about overseas quotas, every fibre of your being is consumed just in the task of staying alive. It's less about overseas quotas and all about car boot sales and penny farthing sponsors.

Thankfully Rovers came through that but there were times it really seemed we wouldn't. We are still only 4 years on from coming off life support so I think people are way too harsh on us.

An expansion club (rightly) is given a lot of leeway because they are starting from scratch but coming into Super League from over a decade of part time rugby isn't all that much easier.

I wish Wakefield luck as they descend inevitably into the dark world Rovers have now left so very far behind. Personally I don't think Wakefield will ever come back, the dice are loaded too heavily now. When the life support of Super League is removed, Wakefield will be gasping for air, frightened, full of regrets.

When reality hits home Wakefield fans will have more pressing things to think about than Hull KR having 2 more overseas players than Wigan.

Dont agree with that. Most Rovers in the east Stand stayed until the final try which was on the hooter.
