The January date was purely provisional and until we get some definite news I expect the golf stand will be staying exactly where it is.
If anyone has more information maybe they will let us know.
Didn't someone comment from the club a while back that they would need to survey the golf stand to ensure it can be dismantled and re-erected safely, maybe it won't be moving if its in bad nick.

All these 'millions' being thrown around.
I'll build the North stand for a cut price of 5 Million, I'll do the East stand extension for FREE and the golf stand, what golf stand? For another £500,000 I'll build a lovely adjoining 1500 seated area in the south.
Please pass this onto the club, I'll start immediately, I need £2.5 million upfront for materials etc..

The club have already said the TV screen will be behind the Golf Stand when it moves, they are just negotiating with the current sponsers on the Golf Stand as to how much advertising space they will loose, I would imagine the scoreboard will be part of the tv screen rebuild if not on the screen itself.

Result, I'll actually be able to see the screen then It's almost impossible to make out at times from the back of the East Stand.

I contacted Mike Smith and raised the question of the golf stand with him. He has replied saying it is still part of the pre-season plan to move the golf stand, but there are other things going on which need to be sorted out first. Mike didn't elaborate on the other things. I have heard (from a relatively reliable source) there is a planning issue over the proposed move in relation to the south terracing. Rovers want to board it off but someone at the Council has ruled it would have to be flattened before the golf stand can be moved on H&S grounds. Looking at the big picture, I reckon once the retendering process is completed things will become clearer. At the moment the club have 4 building projects in the pipeline - North stand, East stand ext'n, moving the golf stand, and the Allam Sports Academy. It would make sense to have the one contractor. With this in mind I don't think any decisions will be made on any of the above projects until the new year.
