No they didn't, they said they are aiming for a top 4 finish and with a good run of results it was possible... now if they weren't aiming for a top 4 finish I'd be disappointed. Its been a pretty weak league this year with teams like leeds and saints both struggling for form and with injuries. Only really Wigan have any kind of consistency so even an underperforming side can string 3 wins together and force their way into top 4 contention.
We have probably played the worst rugby I have seen us play in 5 years and yet we are still in the 8 and only 4 points off the 4th spot so I reckon it is a possibility, an extremely unlikely one, as we don;t look like we have any form in us, but still a possibility.
