If so, he too looked an outstanding prospect along with the number 6 Kristian Bell who I thought outshone every other halfback on the day (including anything in the Under 20's).

Louis Sherriff has definitely got Super League potential too, though an extra few inches in height wouldn't go amiss.

These would be my Naps to make it from the Under 18's but, alongside Scott Taylor, surely the next 'cab off the rank' at first team level is James Green?

Why is it, very little is written or posted about Rovers' youth players compared to Hull FC's when, Reece Lynn apart, I think there is definitely more overall talent in Rovers' ranks?

Perhaps the stereotypical view over many years is that FC have the better set-up... at best tho I suggest that Rovers have at least equal bidding if not slightly better - One thing for sure FC no longer have the pick of the crop and their foundation are having to work harder than ever! 8)

I think Rovers have a policy not to over publicise the younger players and put them under undue pressure and media spotlight at an early age.

Could have swore I read a full page article in the HDM last year singing the praises of Sheriffe. Wasnt he a team mate of Lyne's in the successful Ideal side? If so it was definately an article about him as a future hot prospect.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...

Was it a "hotshots" type profile of him done by the Mail or was it an interview with the lad with quotes attributable to Martin Dunn, Chris Chester and Justin Morgan?

Cant remember the details but the focus was on him signing for Hull KR and being a future super league player. It certainly wasnt one of the hotshot profiles but I believe him and Reece both did appear in that as well.

Think both teams have some great potential players, Hull had a few players that could still be playing in the under 18's, but are playing for the under 20's.

I actually think that Hull have slightly more talent than Rovers, but I would say that as a Hull fan and you say Rovers as a Rovers fan (despite what you username says).

Louis Sheriff should make a great FB, he was at Hull, but we are very strong it that poistion with Jack Briscoe and a young player coming through called Saul Beavis.

Not heard of James Green, but will ask my academy contacts about him, does anyone know which school he went to?

I thought the Hull under 20's side was collectively stronger across the board and certainly smarter than Rovers but - Reece Lynn apart - I thought the players looked functional rather than spectacular. Same story with the under 18's.

In contrast, though Rovers displayed some weaknesses in both games, I just thought that there was a fair bit more individual talent...significantly so in the Under 18's.

If you are talking about players with the potential to make an impact in Super League...on Saturday's evidence at least, Rovers have more!

Thats the thing I judge these on watching these players the last couple of years and have seen a lot of them play at local and school boy level. Danny Nicklaus and Lee Williams (still play at under 18's) have a great chance of making it, Liam Kent also. I also like the look of Alec Norris, Josh Bowden, Jack Briscoe (can all still play in under 18's, put are playign above their age), to name a few others, I do that soon Rovers will follow Hull's footsteps and start producing players of SL standard. Kristain bell is a good example, would have thought he would have been playing in the under 20's this year, he is the same age as Reece Lyne.

I agree, Kristian Bell should be playing in the under 20's.

Has far more to his game than either of the current under 20 halfbacks Spaven and Hardcastle.
