My opinion:
Lovegrove, Watts and Wheeldon (who looks a lot bigger than he did last year) carried the ball forward very well. Especially Lovegrove, who must have averaged around 10 metres per carry (?)
Our movement off the ball and speed of the play the ball was far better than last season and I hope to see this continue. Like Justin said, our execution wasn't perfect and we bombed a few chances. IMO if this game was a few rounds in we would have had 50 on the board without really breaking sweat, which is a good sign.
We dominated territorialy due to some precise kicking but also an improved penalty count (although it still wasn't as low as I would like it).
Our back 3 looked as good as it did throughout last season and Colbon looked very pacey chasing Cookies kick into the corner.
I'd question our defence on the fringes at times and against better teams that will be exploited, but hopefully its soemthing that can be put right, and although Jake did well playing as an extra runner if the middle of the park, I dont think we have enough penetration out wide when he isn't playing at centre.
All in all a good, solid start that is something to build on.

Rovers learnt from FC's mistake, we have never announced the signing we have only just come out with the fact that terms have been agreed as long as he gets his visa sorted. Hull shouted from the roof tops about Crocker and it bit them on the backside when it all fell through. Rovers are not in that situation because we've been open and honest about it and not shouted anything until the said player is over here.

your right about the fact that in the season when all the visas went t@ts up with carney, crocker, eastwood and bird, rovers have gone the right way about it, but theres far too many people who cant take a joke! lets not take life far too seriously

Interesting phenomenen at play here, because I can take a joke, yet Brainaway is a joke but I just can't take to it at all.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.
