It is every poster's right to turn any thread into a partisan issue, however tiresome others may find it. Some do rather abuse the privilege though, IMO.
Every. Single. *******. Thread.
Deep breath.

Leeds could be slightly different, as the players take less pay than they're worth. Salford, Crusaders, Harlequins, Wakey, Cas are the clubs I wouldn;t expect are paying full cap.

Obviously no way of proving how much any of these players earn, so just a bit of fun really. This was my guess for the highest earning XIII.
Can anyone do better?
1 Brett Hodgson 2 Steven Bell 3 Martin Gleeson 4 Matt King 5 Pat Richards 6 Leon Pryce 7 Matt Orford 8 Stuart Fielden 9 Shaun Berrigan 10 Adrian Morley 11 Steve Menzies 12 Craig Fitzgibbon 13 Dallas Johnson
bit of a scenario there isnt there!!! maybe we should look after our own first before shipping our cash overseas....

Unfortunately the way of the world, we seem to rate the aussies much higher than we do own players. What will tend to happen over time if the quota reductions are successfully implemented (ie. residency / loopholes are closed) the you will tend to see British talent becoming the higher paid. the possible downside is that even average brits may become overpaid.

Would the reason be that the Austrailians continuously prove that they're better at Rugby League than the English

Or alternatively it could see larger squads becoming the norm like they are in Aus. One thing is for sure though we will never truly know what players especially the imports are being paid, there are so many ways around the salary cap for those clubs wishing to bend the rules.

You're spot on; the problem is that it's the backs that score the trys that beat us time and again. The overseas quota is supposed to combat the amount of Aussies playing over here. But as it has so many loop holes it doesn't always work.
