Very difficult choice , i know a lot of people have voted for Ben Cockayne and to be fair Charlie has been superb this year , 100% commited put the lad anywhere on the park and he will give his all, a fans favourite , a very passionate player.

Just to shake it up a bit -
Watts
Dobson
Lovegrove
DANNY LOCKWOOD - LEAGUE WEEKLY (18-5-09)
I'M SURE THERE IS NO CORRELATION BETWEEN THE FACT THAT THE FRONT RUNNERS FOR THE 2009 MEDIA WHINGING AWARD ARE FROM GATESHEAD AND HULL FC, FORMERLY THE B*ST*RD-TWINS OF ONE OF RUGBY LEAGUE'S LOUSIER IDEAS.

Tough, one this, no one has particularly stood out, we've succeeded and fallen as a team this year.
I'll go with.
Watts-Has to be commended on the way he's come back from being on loan in NL2 forced himself into the side through pre season and by mid way it was no longer a surprise but an earned right to see his name in the seventeen.
Clinton-Came over and hit the ground more or less running, has stepped up and led the pack as a senior player should when Vella's been injured.
Dobson-Struggled at first but stuck to his guns and backed himself, has been absolute class for the second two thirds of the season.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Really difficult call for me, not had many real consistent performers this season. For me it would have to go to Dobson, had his quieter games but been been the key to most of our victories.
Watts has been good, come along nicely and has shown some good skills.
Cockayne, showed plenty of heart when others around him seem to have little enthusiasm at times. Fits in everywhere and to me a key player.
Clinton has impressed, a bit of a slow start from him but it was expected, I doubt they train to the level needed while still at home before he flew over. His performance v Leeds(a) was outstanding and we need to see that more consistently, dont get me wrong, he has been possibly our strongest front rower overall.
I don't see it as a job. It is a passion and love that we all share. Neil Hudgell
