Halifax RLFC would like to invite all Super League Clubs’ season ticket holders to watch our game against Widnes Vikings Free of Charge on Thursday 29th July 2010, kick off 7:30pm.
All we ask in return is that they show their season ticket at the gate and make a donation to the Overgate Hospice charity. Entry is to the South Stand only where a designated turnstile will be in operation.
Why not come down to The Shay to see two of the three clubs with Super League license points in our Championship Crunch Clash.
Michael Steele, Director of Halifax RLFC said “The Club recognises its place in the local community and values the work which the hospice performs for the people of Calderdale.
As well as welcoming Super League season ticket holders to see their potential future opponents, this is an ideal opportunity for them to see the best of championship rugby in what are now Super League surroundings.”
Lauren Ingram of Overgate Hospice said “We are delighted and really appreciate this gesture by Halifax RLFC. We rely very heavily on our local community to raise the £5,000 needed each day so that we can continue to provide our care free of charge.
Since 1981 Overgate Hospice has provided specialist care for people in Calderdale who have a life limiting illness. We know that we cannot add days to life, but with the support of the community, our care will add life to the days of our patients, helping people to make the most of the time they have left.”

Aye, I would definitely have gone. Now, without the Kumuls? Probably not.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.
