i think the same but would say they wont as there is younger players coming up from the junior ranks that have more potential and neither of the three mentioned have the form in the academy ranks to warrant a new deal at the moment

all three haven't progressed to the next level for a variety of reasons, in beaumonts case due to quite a bad injury, his back I think?, Mariano seems to have taken a step back whilst spav hasn't really nailed down 1 position to challenge for a first team spot often playing half back or hooker. It's the nature of bringing your own through the system, not all the ones who show promise originally go on to fulfill that promise at the top level. Also the way the reserves are set up now, as these players get older they wont have any team to play in.

All three have stagnated in a very ordinary reserve grade competition. Rovers would have been better served sending Mariano and Spaven in particular, out on dual registrations with NL clubs. They needed testing at a better level and then a more informed decision could have been made. AFAIK Rovers only have Haynes out on a dual registration at the moment and even he seems to have been forgotten about as was proved when he was sent home from training a couple of weeks back.

I agree GG but is the dual registration system really working? for one rovers haven't really bought into it but when you look at the clubs that have like Leeds for example, there seems to be a revolving door policy with their reserves at the moment but you kind of know non of the lads who are being farmed out really have a superleague future with Leeds, then there's ainscough at Wigan who is in danger of becoming a permenant loan player like matty smith of saints.

Perhaps we should have done what we did with watts and give spav and frankie a full season on loan somewhere then give them a second season back here to assess them and see if they can kick on to the next level.

Get the impression KR don't believe in dual registrations or a lot of others would have gone on loan for development. Problem is now some of these players like Dee, Hardcastle, Snowden, Spaven etc. will be too old next year to play in the 20s so will be moving on to other clubs who will probably gain from KRs time and effort in these lads.

Thing is you have to accept that time, effort and money will be invested in a great deal of players who simply won't make the grade. That is the nature of the beast and is no different at any other SL club.

This almost desperation amongst some that we turn every youngster into a SL standard player is not necessary and completely unrealistic. If the aforementioned players end up leaving Hull KR but securing contracts elsewhere, than our job there is done - you can't win them all, but we've still developed homegrown players for the game and that counts for a lot.

That's true, but you can't honestly believe that having to loan in another academy player is a positive reflection on the recruitment and coaching skills of the current KR staff?
