Bryn Knowleden was one of the 1946 GB Touring Team to Austalia & NZ whilst at Barrow.

Soon after he joined the star-studded Warrington side and was a try scorer in their 1950 Challenge Cup Final victory over Widnes (who featured Colin Hutton in their ranks)

He became Rovers Player-Coach in the 1951/52 season and despite two poor seasons at the helm he was the coach who brought the great Derek ‘Rocky’ Turner to Craven Park from Ossett RU.

Whilst his achievements in the North West at both Barrow and Warrington will be his greatest, his time at Craven Park is rightly acknowledged.

RIP to a genuine ‘great’ of the game.

A true great of the game.
This is a sad loss to Barrow and the sport in general.

RIP
