Well you may get held up if you decide to call in at the Rugby League Heritage Centre which is located in the basement of the George Hotel close to the railway station in the centre of Huddersfield and maybe 20 minutes drive to the Dewsbury ground. The centre combines history and heritage with modern technology to show case rugby league in a unique way, one that needs a good hour to savour and enjoy. On show is a rare collection of memorabilia: ancient caps, jerseys, boots, digitised century old photographs, valuable medals and trophys, newspaper cuttings and programmes plus a selection of some excellent rugby league books, player biographies, club histories, novels, DVDs and magazines which are on sale. It is a place that all rugby league fans should visit and an introduction for some fans to the game's fascinating history and admission is free!
Visit //www.geofflee.net for details of my novels 'One Winter', 'One Spring', 'One Summer' 'One Autumn' 'Two Seasons'. and "Three Good Years" All six feature Rugby League against a humourous Lancashire/Yorkshire background and are inspired by the old saying about work: "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller."
