Every Thursday on New Gate Market, Val's Bookstall is open and is now selling a wide range of interesting Rugby League books. They include The King Of Brilliance, the biography of James Lomas a Rugby League superstar who played for York between 1913 and 1919, Neil Fox who played between 1975 and 1977 and Maurice Bamford's 50 favourite players, four of whom played for the club. She also includes quite a few books about the history of the game and three novels all with a strong Rugby League background (Braver Than All The Rest, One Winter and One Autumn) and all at reduced prices too. Also on sale she has Harry Edgar's Rugby League World, now no longer available in WH Smith. Well worth a look in the run up to Fathers' Day.
Visit //www.geofflee.net for details of my novels 'One Winter', 'One Spring', 'One Summer' 'One Autumn' 'Two Seasons'. and "Three Good Years" All six feature Rugby League against a humourous Lancashire/Yorkshire background and are inspired by the old saying about work: "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller."
