Hi

I am a Widnes Fan but have been living in York for about 7-8 years now and for some unknown reason ive never attended a York City footie match even though I used to live in the street outside the ground. (prob due to ticket prices) but I have also never attended a York City Knights match.

I am a fan of Rugby League and will watch other teams and now that we are going to be in the Superleague next season and I cant get to home matches I am looking to start coming to the York City Knights games and was just after some advice on prices of tickets/programs and generally some newbie advice for someone new coming to watch the Knights.

It will be myself as my GF doesnt watch rugby so I really just could do with some advice

(I await the abuse for being a widnes fan)

Hi,
I am not the best for giving advice and I apologise for the delay in replying - a long journey home after the performance last night didn't put me in the best of moods - most supporters of YCK use the other forum.

The match day programme York And Proud can be purchased for the sum of £2.50p
Admission prices can be found here

The next home game should be of interest to a former Widnes follower,as it is against Leigh Centurions at The Huntington Stadium on Sunday 29th May.

You will hopefully enjoy the winning performance of former Widnes players Anthony Thackeray and James Ford.

Please persuade your girlfriend to attend - tell her the Huntington Stadium is the most romantic setting in York - ( Best not tell her it is becoming the regular meeting place for ritual masochists )

As you have been courageous enough to ask the question, please be brave enough to attend next Sunday.
I do not think you will be disappointed.

If by any chance you are under 16 I can supply a season ticket thereby saving you some coin.

Im 33 so the season ticket is out the question lol

I still support Widnes but cant get to home matches and seeing as only a short walk from stadium i thought i should really start going and watching some rugby and even better now you have Thacks who i still consider a great player and carried our team for quite a while.

My mrs prefers Union and doesnt really watch much of that so it would be just me but I dont mind doing things solo.

thanks for the information

Is it a good thing for an exiled Mutant to watch his first game at a new supportership ( if there is such a word  ) against Leigh , considering the consistent mullerings we have given your home town club recently , it could put you off RL for life
