Whitehaven have appointed their former player & Sky Tv sports pundit Kyle Amor as their new head coach.

Looks like they are close to folding unless the current board make way, players have gone on strike and they will forfeit the remaining games.

Reading between the lines, it looks like the staff & players are not prepared to work for some 'returning' directors who they have had previous issues with.

Not good for anyone, but obviously awful for their supporters and the club.

Interesting to see what happens regarding the remaining games or the season so far. It would probably benefit us in an immediate sense if Whitehavens fixtures for the season are wiped from the record, but I hope they find a way through this and carry on

I wonder if that had anything to do with the below where players were refusing to play unless conversations could be had with the board

I wonder if this means fixtures will still be forfeit or not

According to the below if that were to happen Whitehaven would lose each game 48 nill

https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/what-happens-whitehaven-forfeit-remaining-29783118

Considering the closeness of the league I can't help but feel this could have a big impact on other teams if it was to come to pass and could potentially be unfair to other teams in the comp.

I have not checked the fixtures so I am unaware of how this could impact teams this year but this method of resolution does leave open the hypothetical scenario of two teams being close to each other fighting neck and neck for position but one has played the offending team (ie Whitehaven) twice and one has not played them at all yet. This would leave the second team with a bonus 96 points to their points difference meaning they could potentially overhaul the first team in a way that I'm sure wouldn't feel fair.

From our perspective we would avoid relegation so it wouldn't matter to us but it feels like the fairest resolution for other teams in the league would be to reverse the points difference caused by all Whitehaven fixtures and remove the points gained by the teams who have already played them with all remaining teams left to play them just having a free weekend that week.

It's been confirmed that they will travel to Dewsbury for Sunday's fixture following a training session yesterday.
