Having seen the statement from the Whitehaven CEO yesterday, and numerous postings on the Barrow Raiders forums about the club being in financial difficulty ,isn't it time for clubs to take a long hard look at themselves and realise that with Super League clubs now receiving an even greater share of the Sky money, belts have to be tighten and sacrifices made.
.It's time to stop the boom and bust of signing players on inflated contracts, and then complaining when you cant meet your financial obligations to them and HMRC.

As the saying goes "The only certainty in life are death and taxes"

Workington also made significant cuts the year after they came down from the Championship, as the revenue streams from League one are limited with only a handful of home fixtures and limited money of about £15,000 from the RFL.

Take Dewsbury as an example, spent heavily to win promotion then fail to invest to even compete in the Championship , we should really count ourselves lucky that Terry Bramall and Gavin Baldwin not only backed the club to gain promotion, but followed that up with significant investment to stay there and compete.

I hope Haven survive but its the same story from the same clubs every year , live within your means and you will always have a club to support ,alternatively spend rashly ,chasing a dream and there may be no dream left to chase.

Just watched the post match (Bradford) interview with Haven's coach. Its not good for Haven at the moment and having witnessed this with the Dons previously I feel for their predicament. We are very much indebted to TB and GB (as above) for the position we are in.

What a weekend for Club Doncaster , a great win for the Rovers, followed by an outstanding performance from The Dons.

The club is in a fantastic position , crowds are rising ,the team is playing above expectations and under Josh ,grass roots rugby is starting to flourish again.

I think we are assured of Championship rugby again next season, and it goes to show that if clubs are run properly and teams don't overspend, then to finish in the top half in a tough division is achievable.
We look to have players that want to be at Doncaster and are not here just for a pay cheque,, as others teams have commented.

If the only thing worth moaning about are the highlights being loaded late, then go get yourself a life as the club is moving in the right direction. I know this wont please some of this forums posters ,who are quick to comment after a loss but crawl back under their stone after nights like Saturday. COYD

I don't know if you need help or just angry with the world??? All of these 'forum posters' congratulated and praised the win on saturday and most of the 'forum posters' commented how proud they were of the perfomance at our loss at sheffield so give it a rest with your club doncaster preaching. We are in a good place and im proud of what weve done this season id go as far as saying all that post on here are happy with where were at but it seems you want us praise every win but not say anything when we play poorly which on a forum simply wont happen, the mood is positive the topics have been jovial then for a 2nd time you pop up and look for an argument. Your hypocrisy is astounding , only a few weeks ago you were calling for Horne to be fired and head back over to Hull , now after some fantastic results everything is sweetness and light and your blowing smoke up his ass.

I made the comments about Club Doncaster because I see the club is moving in the right direction, and I admire anyone that throws a substantial amount of money into the club to take us to the next level.
I don't tend to comment when performances have been under par ,as this season was always going to be one of peaks and troughs, if you had said to me at the start of the season we would have a better than 50/50 ratio with 7 games to go I would have been over the moon.

I give praise when it's due and moan when we've underperformed that to me is a balanced view right? No workplace only hands out praise but turns a blind eye to errors and sport should be no different, my personal view on horne remains i don't rate him it's as simple as that but if others do i don't go around preaching or calling them a tool, club doncaster have for the first time in a long time splashed the cash and allowed us to bring better players in and the results and where we are make for good reading so for that they deserve credit. If a fan pays their hard earned money and travels up and down the country watching they absolutely have the right to post what they see irrespective of whether you like it or not, i find our fans are either Negative Nellie's or Happy clappers.
