With both Aston and Heys being stood down due to a failure in medical protocol , I would imagine it could be something to do with the HIA test.

Could it be that they have made the call to put a player back on the field who has failed to pass the tests?

The RFL must have some evidence to substantiate a suspension of the coach (and club Director) and head physio ,but as far as I recall it is the match doctor that would make that call and not the coach or physio?
Maybe they have both tried to coerce the match doctor into fudging the test ,who knows but I would imagine they have been stood down so they cannot interfere in the ongoing investigation.
I know it's only speculation but I could see long bans coming to them both if this is the case.

I know we have to have a bit of comedy rivalry with Sheffield, but Mark Aston has been the soul of that club for decades. I can not believe for a minute he has been suspended for something trivial, if so the club need to be embarrassed for not supporting him. It must be something pretty bad, that they pretty sure he's done

I cant imagine what other form of medical compliance other than something serious would lead to both Aston and Heys being suspended.

Surely it cant be something as trivial as filling out a form incorrectly or not at all.
We all can see how player welfare is having a massive impact on the sport and this could be part of the issue.

Has a player raised a welfare issue to the club and it has been ignored ? Who knows.

I don't mind Aston and banter between clubs is par for the course as far as i am concerned, without him I don't think Sheffield would be in the position they are. Their ex players always speak highly of the Eagles, so it will be interesting to see the outcome of the RFL investigation.

I agree entirely; many clubs would kill for someone like him. Which makes this all the more intriguing

I fail to see why the Club should be embarrassed, a considered decision has been made not to comment publicly, that in no way implies guilt.
Everyone at the Club is behind Mark and Mick.

Speaking with a friend ,who's son is an Eagles players at the game yesterday ,and it looks like a very serious allegation against MA to do with HIA.

He said if the charges are proven it could result in him being fined and banned ,while the club receive a points deduction.
The RFL must have clear evidence of misconduct to suspend both Aston and Heys and I think there is more to this than a clerical error.
