Castleford could be looking to send Albert Vete out on a season long loan to free up a quota place, as they want to bring in someone else. It'd be great if he was coming back to the Dons.

There appears to be a possibility that Batley could form a Dual Reg with Castleford. If that happened, I presume it would increase the chances of Albert Vete going to Batley. Here's the full story:

Would definitely have him back if the chance arises, he was always going to stand out last season dropping 2 divisions and obviously with him being a unit! I personally thought he was carrying a bit more weight than he should of been, could fully expect it had he been mid to late 30's but he's only 30 which is not far off peak for a prop. His mobility and off-loading won't be as prominent in this division but in saying that we've been desperate big bodies down the middle and he certainly gives us that. If he decides to hit the gym hard pre-season he will be an handful for any team. What's everybody's thoughts?

I'd definitely have him back. As you say, he was dropping two divisions which meant he was always likely to make an impact.

In all the years Richard Horne has been in charge, I feel we've never had enough oomph in the forwards. This problem was better addressed last season, coupled with the fact we were blessed with plenty of experience too.

However, experience alone isn't going to cut it in the Championship. Unless we strengthen significantly in the forwards, we could easily get over-run by a lot of teams. I'm hoping for at least three new big men. Albert Vete would do nicely plus another couple.

Would love to have him back, if we loan him then we have to pay, if Cas go into Dual Reg with Batley then they will still be paying him, so that could work in our favour if he does become available

I'm not 100% sue on the details of the rules but if he is on Dual Reg I don't think that would release him from Castleford's oversees Quota

If he is loaned out then he is not included on the quota , however if he is dual registered he can play for either his registered club or his dual registered club on the same day which makes him a Castleford quota player.

He was included in the Castleford 2024 squad reported yesterday. There is however, some (so far) unconfirmed 'chatter" that he has been released ...

Rumoured to have signed for a Championship side.
