Team 1 is promoted, teams 2 to 6 are in the play-offs. Rochdale might overtake N Wales for 6th spot.
Dons can't finish below 5th.
Oldham's remaining games are: Cornwall (A), Rochdale (A), Midlands (H) plus a yet to be arranged game at home to Workington (H).
Workington: Dons (H), Dewsbury (A), Hunslet (H) and Oldham (A). Hunslet: Dewsbury (H), Rochdale (A), London (H) and Workington (A). Here's my best guess as to how the table might finish:
1. Dewsbury (champions) 2. Hunslet 28 (lose to Dewsbury, beat Rochdale, London and Workington) 3. Oldham 27 (win all four remaining games: Cornwall, Rochdale, Midlands and Worky) 4. Dons 26 (lose to Dewsbury and Workington, beat N Wales, Cornwall and London) 5. Workington 24 (lose to Dewsbury, Hunslet and Oldham, beat Dons)
It's quite a complicated situation really. I've got Worky to lose to Dewsbury, Hunslet and Oldham but I don't say that with any confidence. We definitely need Dewsbury to beat Hunslet this weekend. If we lose at Worky, we might need Worky to beat Oldham in order for us to finish third... but Worky might then catch us!
If we can beat Worky, things would look a whole lot better....
Finishing fourth or fifth would probably be a nightmare. I hope my assessment is wrong.
The games they've been winning lately have been against the lesser lights but the 60-10 win over Midlands shows the stark contrast between their form and ours. They only lost by four at Hunslet. Worky looked awful when they play at our place. No doubt they'll want to get revenge on Sunday.
Sunday is a pivotal game for both sides. If we lose, we might be looking at fourth or fifth. If we win, a top three finish could be back on the cards.
