Mark Castle had an outstanding season for us when he last played for us. He looked like a player with a big future.

From memory I think he signed for Leigh but got injured shortly after. I believe he's playing for a local amateur side now (seem to recall it being mentioned on here at some point).

Does anyone know if Mark is back to full fitness and whether there's any chance he could play for the Dons again?

He always gave 100%. If fit I think he could be a big asset to us.

What does everyone else think?

I think Mark was one of these that had a problem with training, in that it wasn't his thing and so didn't always attend. I believe that was his biggest problem at Leigh

He has been playing for Fryston along with a number of other ex-Dons such as Gaz Handford, Jonathan Jones and Andy Speake.

Thanks for the update guys.

It's a shame if training is the problem. I thought he could have been a good quality player reaching the top Championship levels.

Mark kicked a goal for Fryston in their 42-10 victory over Batley Boys at the weekend. Andy Speake kicked the other 4 goals and there was a try for Craig Jones (amongst the 8 scored).

Only played one game for the Knights, then just stopped training.
