I have read elsewhere of talk of a merged Scorpoins/Crusaders team going into the Championship. I very much hope that such a nightmare would not become a reality. The prospect of a team potentionally finishing second bottom of CC1 yet gaining promotion via the back door is something that could only occur in rugby league. i hope i am wrong.
Any thoughts?

I don't know what the difference between a merged welsh side in CC1 and the existing welsh side in CC1 would be?

I'd be very surprised if South Wales would want to merge with the Crusaders to be honest.

It would also surprise me if The Crusaders manage to put out a team in their remaining games.

May be they will if the RFL pay their wages & they are deemed not to be free agents.

The Crusaders are already in debt to the tune of £1 Million to the RFL and wages are still owed to players for games that have taken place----- surely they will not throw more money at them.

The sad fact is that the RFL would have gladly given a franchise to the Crusaders had the owners not pulled out yesterday.

I'm sure that I heard on a broadcast that The Crusaders had to bring in some players for one game from their feeder club South Wales. I will gladly be corrected but I'm sure that what was said. If the two merge, and magically morph into the Championship with all the RFL backing that has been spoken about on other boards then what bloody chance have the traditional clubs got?

Expansion for expansion's sake is a proven loser.

Yes, perhaps they'll stop doing it for the sake of it now!
