It looks like a one horse race when you read the average attendances for 2010 of the clubs who have been sent an application form to be considered for a Super League licence The minimum crowd critera is the applicants must have a minimum average home attendance of no less than 2500 during season 2009 or 2010 Featherstone 1932 Barrow 1823 Widnes 3147 Halifax 2364 Batley 1456 |

I thought Halifax had managed to get their average over 2500 by some creative accounting when they played Batley, where an extra 5 million people were reported as attending *exageration |

If they do manage to fiddle the attendance criteria. They will fail on the rule that says each applicant must have a stadium with an operational capacity of 10.000 the capacity at the New Shay is 6561 |
