Hello lads ive just been watching a dvd of the promotion decider between Batley and Doncaster(kindly supplied by Geoff Roebuck)at Mount Pleasant in 1994.
A great game to watch played in front of a capacity crowd, seemed like Donny had a great following that day.Any of you lads go to the game and your memories of the day out.
Big Geoff Grayson takes no prisoners

What a great day that was! I am pleased to say that i was there.
Unfortunately due to the way RL is now run i fear it was scenes that we will never see again. I can not see how being awarded a SL franchise could ever compare with the jubilation felt that day!
We were packed in like sardines. If i remember correctly a win for either side would have gained them promotoin and a draw would have let london in via the back door.
Me and my mate ran around the pitch with a big blue and gold banner before the kick off after a Batley fan had placed a Btley car flag on the centre spot!

IIRC it wouldn't stick at first...the pitch was like a dustbowl.
It got a cheer.
Happy days ... wish I could go back.
It seemed like every Dons supporter ever was at that match.

Loved the game, the atmosphere was electric and thats the way people should feel when the clubs are in a promotion game.

The super league franchises should be scrapped and revert back to good old promotion and relegation.

I remember being at Warrington for the final against Oldham when we beat them, and i remember the feeling that i had at the final whistle to have gained promotion. Only to be told about the coach leaving and the chairman pulling the plug, and really suffering the following year.

Best game in 30+ years of supporting Donny.

I remember going back to Tattersfield after the match & sitting on the paddock dreaming about the teams that would be playing there the next season.

Happy days.

Franchise system - diabolical. Why should the state of your ground dictate who gets promoted? Typical RL HQ shambles. These clowns don't know what loyal support is.

It did seem like every Dons supporter was there and they were still coming through the turnstiles and even over the walls as the kick-off was delayed.

I think I watched it in the Yarborough with my Dad and brother and from wot I can recall it was packed and I will never forget the atmosphere after we had won, a very special day.

What a day that was!
Remember running onto the pitch at the hooter with everyone then thought poop i'm never going to find me Dad again with all these people here, but when i turned round he was about a yard behind me running onto the field himself.
Imo the Saints game just edges it for the best game i've seen.
