I would have hoped for an official statement from the Club sometime in the past fortnight, since Agents have been told to stop collecting by those running the Lottery currently (reportedly on instruction from the Advisory Board) and that the Draw on Friday 14th May 2010 will be the last.
No announcement, nothing on the website even though the site has been updated with other information.
Can the Club afford to say nothing and let those who have been paying in just walk away?
As an Agent I expected that something would be communicated and in fairness we shouldn't have to chase a statement from the Club.
I have just received a letter fom Carl Hall at the Dons that the lottery is to be run back in-house and that the present organisers will no longer be involved and a new lottery will be re-launched very shortly

Finally, something. But in reality, as decisions were taken weeks ago, communications should have been made weeks ago and there may have been some chance of continuity. Now, it's a fair assumption that many former contributors will be lost.
Just had a phone call to advise that the Final Draw for the existing lottery will take place this tea-time in the Drum Public House, Bentley at approx 5.15pm.
Just got back from the Drum where I was asked to do the final 6-ball draw. Apparently, if I haven't made someone rich that way a random draw will take place.

We have a new Lottery manager his name is Mark Wilson he starts work Friday 14/05/10. You can E Mail him on wmark672@aol.co.uk.
hope this helps .
Paul,
Unfortunately, the letter from the Club hardly makes that clear. There is no mention of Mark Wilson and no specifics about timescales so it is no surprise that there is some confusion.
I am guessing that you are aware of this information having made enquiries, but it would have been (in my opinion at least) more beneficial to have had some continuity which certainly isn't the case now.
Unfortunately, as the only information received until this Wednesday evening (letter dated 11 May) was that the 'lottery will close down after the draw on May 13/14', I have spent this week advising people that I do not need to collect from them anymore as there are no future draws that I am aware of. As I said previously, an earlier statement from the Club may have at least led to some continuity.
Gary.
