See the racing got called off today...does that mean we should expect a pitch inspection before the game tomorrow?

The weather is dodgy..........and it's a long way from Barrow.
So the pitch inspection would have to give them decent notice hence be early.....so it could be off.
It'll be right.....

Guys, I am the MC on tomorrows game and I have not had notification or anticipation of problems tomorrow.

Normally, if there is a suspicion a game could be off, the MC is asked to travel over and make an early call on the game.

Last year, I had to travel from East Yorkshire to Gateshead to advise whether Widnes should travel due to a flooded pitch.

If the game needs to be called, I would have expected a call this evening from your CEO or the RFL to say there was a doubt and would have been inspecting around 10am to make a call so that Barrow could be advised to turn back.

At this point, the game is on.

Well my grandson's football game has just been called off.....granted a half past nine kick-off and not 3pm.
The sun is out, but the temp is still -1 degrees.....and that Keepmoat pitch doesn't get much sun in winter..

Not a groundsman myself but I would have thought the pitch would have been rolled then covered .
