20 Year-Old DAVID ATHERTON whilst serving with the Coldstream Guards in Afghanistan has recently been shot whilst on patrol, he was flown back to the UK and had a operation on Sunday night (25/10/2009).
Because David is expected to be hospitalised for some time at Birmingham’s Selly Oaks Hospital, with this in mind the Moorends-Thorne Marauders R.L.F.C. intend to raise £1,000 towards his families travelling and accommodation costs.
The Race Night & Karaoke will be held on Saturday 21st/November/2009 in the Moorends Social Club, Marshland Road, Moorends. Doors open @ 7pm with the Karaoke starting at 7.30pm with a selection of local singers, the first of four races will come under starters orders at 8pm, There will be a short break with more Karaoke followed by the remaining four races, the night will end with the stage being open to all Karaoke singers.
