Leigh may not be spared relegation to Championship One because of Gateshead's problems, the RFL have confirmed.

The Thunder's holding company is to be liquidated, but potential new owners could see nine points deducted from last season's total, which would result in them returning to the bottom tier.

Asked if it would reprieve Leigh, a RFL spokesman said: "That would be a decision for the board of directors."

So we will be relegated from 8th in an 11 team league :lol: :lol: :lol: I suppose the equivalent in football is getting relegated from 14th position in the Premiership
