The club is in a bad need of a handle (Dragons etc) so it can be promoted in to the community.

It’s not working mate, Us older Guys/Girls will always call them the Dons, but the plain facts are; kids are not attracted to the name, potential sponsors will not touch the brand with a yard stick and the name is hard to market as a brand, The proof IMO in how hard it is to market is in our mascots (No disrespect to the ex-players intended)

The day before the final game of last season (Gateshead) members of the Supporters Trust complete with both Mascots gave away tickets to children for the match. I can assure you that a good few of those tickets were used.

We were also asked what we we promoting and people were both inquisitive and prepared to listen about / discuss the Dons.

We just need to keep plugging away.

I completely agree with having to keep plugging away and the type of promotion before the last game needs to be repeated more than once every week in all corners of the borough (You only have to drive around Bradford & district) I would be marketing the club as if it was a brand new club, if the club need any advise I would point them in the general direction of a guy called Cliff Spracken who over the years has done a wonderful job in promoting Rugby League throughout Europe (He has many contacts).

Do the Basics Jim, thats what it takes. Castle Park crowds are up on each respective game last season, all by running the basics repeatedly.

One piece of advice for the Trust.

There are pre existing initiatives and procedures to increase crowds, run them before you come up with a new idea.

And genuinely, good luck to RL in Doncaster.

:D

Martin.

one thing we have to do is aim at the new people who came last season, yes there were some, they have to be encouraged to come again. Hope the Season Tickets are fairly priced & we compete on the field of play.

Not so sure how we can get the regulars who became not so regular back !

Rome wasnt built in a day look how well HKR have done over the past 5-10 years. Even I look for their results . well maybe just a glance.
