| Post subject: | Whats happend to the Dons |
Hi all I use to support (still do from afar)the dons in the eighties upto 91 when I moved North,at that time they were doing just fine. Whats happend this season? and why on earth do they play at the Keepmoat. Vist Donny to see ma mother on a regular basis and planning a trip this summer to see the team. What attendentces are you getting? First game I saw was maybe 86ish when they beat Keithley 56-something?? at home, the great John sheridan in charge, with Noble, Parkhouse, Green, Turner, Pennant (black death) gibbon Hall,Villa,Kemp etc etc Most memorable game? There was many, but a league night game at tattersfield agaist Halifax where we beat them 8-4 I think, Trafford borough always seemed to be a bogey team, but it was a great era, un fortunatley promotion to the big league did them no good. |

My thoughts entirely. There are many threads on here on the various problems if you have time on your hands. Much of it appears to come down to (and we are not alone here) more money committed out than coming in and with one or two exceptions the businesses of Doncaster not supporting the Club with sponsorships etc. Add to that significantly dwindling crowds as more and more one-time regulars get fed up with boom and bust and unfortunately the result is inevitable. |

Appears we dont have long to put things right & be able to have a club next season ! We donot need a close season like last year. ie Not Knowing if we have a club to support . |
