Widnes Vikings have parted company with assistant coach John Stankevitch following a reorganisation of the coaching set up at the Stobart Stadium, Halton.

Commenting on the decision, Vikings Chief Executive Alex Bonney said, "Recently we have been reorganising throughout the Club and the position of assistant coach was deemed to be a part time role.

"This reduced hours role was offered to John who then wrote to the Club stating that he formally rejected the offer and consequently the decision was taken to part company.

"John has given the Club 18 months service since Widnes Sport Ltd took over for which we thank him and we are sure that he has a great future in the sport and will not be out of the game for long."

What a shame, hope there is some jobs available within Widnes cos we know about his traveling problems.
