On Sept 30th 2008 under the topic Isn't There Enough Money ???
I posted my thoughts which read as follows.

The club at present is losing an average of £4500 per week (£234k per year) next season we will have to pay higher wages for first division players this will probably be offset a little by better supported visiting teams but even with the £100k from the RL we will have a shortfall of around £134k or £2500 per week less EH,Lawrie & Gales wages. The management have some tough decisions to make which may include reducing overheads & cutting costs, relocate to Castle Park get rid of the highest earners & maybe don't take promotion to Nat League 1 & continue playing in Nat League 2 this option in my opinion would see some long standing fans give up on the club but on the other hand it may be the only way at the moment the club can afford to operate & ensure the continuation of professional Rugby League in Doncaster.

Both Dragonfan & Stand-Offish posted a reply stating they were against the idea of turning down promotion to Nat League 1

That is True Geoff but it wasn't only myself and Stand-Offish--

Didn't the Rugby-League take an eternity after we had won promotion
last season in granting us our spot in the Championship, and i'm sure it
was not a forgone conclusion that we would infact go up.

They spent weeks if not months looking into the clubs finance's and business plan
and as far as i know they found everything in order and granted us promotion.

If everything was in order then--why are we in the position we now find ourselves..

The credit crunch will not have helped and the attendances have probably not met
expectations but things appear to have gone downhill very fast.

We all knew it was going to be a long hard season-- but we hoped to remain at least
optimistic more than seven games into the season.

Had we declined promotion at that time who's to say we wouldn't still be in the
same situation as we are now--only in a lower league.

Do we actually know Castle Park is an option.
They may allow us to play a couple of games there but
thats about as much as there probably willing to do.
