Sheffield did well to pick up a bonus point...... just like they did against us.

Sheffield are doing the right thing though, every game they have lost, they have picked up a bonus point...it's enough to keep you in this division

I don't think it's an exact science though is it?
You just do your best and compete and that's it.
You get a bonus point or you don't.

Obviously...It kept Dewsbury in this division for a few years

Yes....but you seem to imply it is something we could do to order.
Obviously all cubs, if they lost would want a bonus point,.....but that is not the same as getting one.
Dewsbury must have had a competitive, CONSISTENT side to achieve what they did.
Nobody is knocking the value of bonus points....if that's what you are implying?
I was having a dig at the Eagles, not bonus points, and you have obviously misunderstood me.

I understand exactly what was said, and I agree...and while the conversation was about bonus points I made another point on the subject in a conversational sort of way :?

(However, while it is not a bonus point to order, I do think it is possible to start a game with a bonus point in mind and to aim for that specifically if a team believes a win is out of reach...which is obviously not what the Seagulls did on either game)

And don't get me started on the existence of the bonus point in the first place!

It's better to start every game with a win in mind....and keep a tight defence....then bonus points that come your way take care of themselves.
Bonus point thinking should only come into it when the game is clearly lost.
One last push ...so to speak.
IMHO

I agree entirely that that's how the game should be played...I just feel the rule allows/potentially encourages spoiling tactics, slowing down, taking less attacking options right from the off...particularly in less than perfect coniditions
