The Sun Inn (junction of York Road & Barnsley Road, north of Doncaster) currently has Banks's Black Diamond 4.0%. Described as 'quite a conundrum. Dark in colour, yet light in palate, rich yet refreshing, the looks of a Stout, but very much a Bitter, hints of dark malt, but with a blast of aromatic hops. Seeing isn't believing - but tasting is! ' it certainly is something different and whilst I couldn't drink it all night it is certainly a refreshing change.

I'm just wondering how many liver transplants one person is allowed.

He's doing a sterling job of reducing alcoholism in the wider populus by supping most of the ale.

Just returned from a couple of days based on the outskirts of Sowerby Bridge. The Polished Knob in Todmorden was well worth a visit with the Captain Cook Endeavour (bitter) very enjoyable. Castle Rock Preservation also much appreciated in the Albert, Hebden Bridge. Returned via Holmfirth and called for one at the Nook. Their own Rescue Red being the chosen drink.
