Beer festival at tonic this friday, saturday and sunday
the following ad from donny drinker
TONIK 1ST ANNUALBEER FESTIVAL, FRI-SUN 26-28 JUNE
20 CASK ALES
UPSTAIRS BAR AND ROOF TERRACE
£2 ENTRY INCLUDES GLASS AND FREE PROGRAMME
£15 (£12 ADV) PER SESSION ALL INCLUSIVE TASTER OPTION
I'll be there this Friday, also says live music is on sat night
Had a pint of Whim Hartington Ale, definitely worth a second tasting and Durham's White Ale, which was excellent, both sampled at the Arkwright Arms, Sutton-cum-Duckmanton.
Old Leg Over 4.1% in the Gatehouse and
Daleside Stout 4.2% in the Old Angel
then ventured to the Tonik festival mentioned earlier in the thread ...
Timothy Taylors Ram Tam 4.3%
Cairngorn Nessies Monster Mash 4.4%
Great Heck Dave (dark and very enjoyable - apparently) 3.9% and
a mystery beer which everyone is asked to donate 50p to charity for a guess at and the opportunity to win a gallon of beer. It tasted a little like York Brewery Centurion Ghost but probably wasn't.
also managed a pint of Courage Directors 4.8% in the Salutation.
