The committment from the players was there from start to finish, our attitude was good and we were up for the game, the ref was bad for both sides but some of the penalties he gave against us were a joke. Our preparation was first class the club made the effort to give the boys the best enviroment for our game prep and full credit to Carl, Steve and others at the club for doing this.On the day i felt both teams were evenly matched, however we didnt get the rub of the green yesterday, the defensive line looked comfortable and it was kicks and lucky bouncers that beat us.Mike Butterfield has a broken hand and Tommy G hasnt been training ,sometimes its hard not to commemt on some of the things written on this forum about players and team selection but the coaching staff have the clubs best interests at heart and if a player is not selected for whatever reason its up to them to show that they are a team player, both in commitment and attitude.Danny Stanley has shown this over the last few weeks even though he hasnt been selected, showing his desire to play for the club which is what we need to build for a good season next year.COYD

How many supporters made the journey?
I couldn't make it myself due to decorating commitments :(

There were 8 in our group and about 6 further down in the stand.

Maybe us fans were not at the same game then?? Head high, grapples and dropped balls were there for all to see not just the ref, and then were the ones he didn't spot.

Nobody commented on how well the club and officials prepared the guys for the game, you see the game from a coaches point of view and us from a fans point of view.

Well done to our little band of supporters who had made the very long and expensive trip down to South Wales.
Our fans vocal performances outclassed the home supports feeble efforts.

Information is that Tommy G has left the club, any news on this issue?????

I accept some of your points Baz, our ball retention and completion rate in the first half was poor, but the penalty count also had us on the back foot from the off, we arent a dirty side nor do we rely on rough housing as we must have one of the lightest packs in the league, yes there was a couple of tackles that sailed close to the wind but nothing like the number given agaist us.The point i was making was that after watching the game again this morning ,everything that could have gone against us did ,unlike last week when everything we did came off. I know over the course of the year things get evened out ,but if you watch the game again ,there is very little to choose between the teams. Tommy G not at training last week but has not informed anyone he has left the club. Thanks to everyone that traveled to the game to support the team, your efforts were appreciated

That was the frustrating thing for me Chunkster the ball retention and completion rate to be honest. The thing is we all came away from Neath yesterday knowing we should have won the game. I said it in my 1st post that Scorpions were there for the taking and it must show we have come some way to think we should be taking the 3 points home from Wales.

I think as well thats why we all would love to see Danny getting a game soon as like you say we need more size in the pack and Danny always gets stuck in and gives us good go forward.
Keep up the good work mate and get the lads revved up for Worky. Another team we should have beat on there patch as well!!

What is it with sides (not just ours) when they go away?
Brilliant at home .. but shoite away.
It just goes to show games are lost in the head, then lost on the pitch.
No real damage done, the table never lies ... we are the third worst side in the division. It's a fact ... not having a go ... it's a fact.

Let's rip into Workington and go out on a high ... and then take stock and do something about the fact that we have underachieved.

I genuinely think the side we have is a top six side ... potentially, but results would suggest otherwise.
COYD

Wasnt a waste of time and money SO just a bit gutting thats all when we all know we can do a lot better. I wasnt having a go either , was just frustrated thats all. We have played really well away from home this year as well and theres been quite a few games when we should have come home with the points. We can build on this for next year.
Its lovely down in that neck of the woods though mate. Stayed in the Gower area.Beautiful place. Some good ales for you and Wanderer as well down there. A good one was one called Hancox or Hancocks (one of the two!). Get saving up and go next year mucker!
